Hello and welcome to this month’s wellness corner! We will discuss how Chiropractic care and stretching are essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Chiropractic care promotes nerves working at optimal levels helping to heal, decrease pain, improve functional movement, and much more! Stretching assists by keeping the muscles flexible, helping to maintain proper function. We will start with how chiropractic care can keep you healthy.
How Does Chiropractic Care Work?
Traditional chiropractic care uses manual adjustments to move vertebrae and joints within the spine. The vertebrae have a gel-like disc in between each one. These are important since this is what provides nutrition to the nerves if the vertebrae are in dysfunction the disc is not able to dispose of waste and promote healthy nutrition. At Baybridge Chiropractic Clinic we use a “sniper” approach to target specific levels in your spine, by doing it this way we are able to find the origin of your pain quickly and efficiently. We have other techniques and treatments available if the patient is unable to be manually adjusted such as Class 4 laser therapy and True Decompression therapy. Next, we will discuss how stretching goes hand in hand with chiropractic care.
Why Is Stretching Important?
Stretching helps by lengthening the muscles. Why is this important? As we age our bodies naturally degenerate causing our muscles to shorten. We cannot stop degeneration; we can slow it down and manage it. Taking the time to stretch will keep the muscles, joints, and the vertebrae in your spine flexible. The shortening of the muscles can cause pains and stiffness in our back, shoulders, legs, joints, and more which is why I recommend stretching a minimum of three times a week and especially every time after exercising.
What Are The Benefits To Chiropractic Care & Stretching?
With proper Chiropractic treatment and proper stretching, you will be on your way to a healthier lifestyle. Pain will decrease, range of motion of your joints will increase, and how you feel overall will improve. The disc in the spine will function correctly helping to improve the communication of the nerves throughout the body. Stretching will keep the muscles from becoming stiff. Stay moving, stay healthy, and we look forward to becoming your family chiropractor. Call 850-932-1778 for your appointment, consultations are free!
